Going to Miami next thursday, what is important to bring/have in mind?

What should I pack, how do you think the weather is gonna be like? where should I shop, I'm staying at the Grand Beach Hotel on Collins Avenue btw. And is there any dress-code? (I'm 15) and is it weird wearing shorts and boots in Miami... I know that's normal in california, but I don't know if it is in Miami. And what to do if it rains? like things to do in Miami when the weather is bad. Oh, and also, the weather reports are saying it rains all the time, but people I know live there say it isn't that bad, that it's just showers. Can you help me here? haha.

No dress code at the hotel. The hotels main focus is the beach, so bring the usual attire that you would bring to the beach. Nobody wears boots in hot Miami unless they want to attract attention or protect their toes while dancing at the club. Flats, open-toes, and flip-flops are the norm on the street. If you're going to dine at the hotels restaurant, dress nice.



There's little shopping near the hotel since that part of Collins Avenue is wall-to-wall hotels. A short drive will get you to the big shopping areas.



Yeah, normally it's just brief afternoon showers and on some days, it won't rain at all. However, the weather later this week may be a problem. We're expecting some heavy rains after Thursday, maybe some good wind too. As of today, they're not sure how it'll all shake out. On rainy days, the hotel staff takes care of their guests and is good about indoor recreational activities, so check with the registration desk. You can also spend a wet day at the ridiculously giant Aventura Mall, outdoor Lincoln Mall, or the Bal Harbour Shops...all within 10 miles of the hotel.Going to Miami next thursday, what is important to bring/have in mind?
