How did the Finals become automatically "unrigged" when the Mavericks started winning?

Was that really an excuse for the slow start? Or did fans really believe the NBA was rigged. Why were there no more complaints when the Mavericks started winning? Even with the referees poor officiating against the Heat not many Heat fans were complaining.



I'm not discrediting the Mavericks in any way, I'm just addressing the people that were rooting against the Heat.



If the league was rigged, wouldn't the series have gone to 7 games? Game 7 would have had higher ratings than game 6, which were at about 15.1.

2006 was a serious injustice to the Mavs and Mavs fans. I know that series was rigged... a lot of people do. If you want to call it "poorly officiated" then go ahead. But we all know what happened.

Actually... the NBA wanted a game 7 this year. Thats why Miami had a 31-9 free throw edge at one point.

I thought the officials were in favor of the mavs in game 3... which they ended up losing. But otherwise... I thought the officiating was fine. There were plenty of "50/50" calls that went either way.

My problem with 2006 was the number of times Wade went to the line. It was absurd. And the Mavs couldn't even play defense! NBA record: 97 free throws in a six game series.

the 2006 finals were rigged, it was obvious, in game 6, Jason Terry was fouled on a 3 point attempt with 45 seconds to go, then Wade wasn't called for an offensive foul, they make him go to the free throw line instead

This Finals wasn't rigged. There were only some bad calls for both teams, and that's normal. The 2006 Finals, however, appeared rigged to me. Dwyane Wase got an insurmountable amount of FT attempts. Just look up some clips and you'll see a few "phantom" calls. I think even Phil Jackson said the series was rigged.

I never called a game rigged, and never will. I refuse to do that because I think it is an excuse everyone uses, and I can't stand it, it was never at one point fixed.

Fans say games are rigged when their favorite team is losing. 2006 NBA Finals are debatable, but there is certainly no more rigging.
LOL the series would have gone to a game 7, IF the Heat had hit the majority of their free throws. They had 30+ but only made like 20.

The 06 Finals were rigged. That's a fact. (See link in source)

The 2011 Finals weren't so much rigged as just a lot of bad calls. Most were against the Mavericks, but I also saw a few bad calls against the Heat and also a lot of uncalled fouls for both teams. Just poor officiating. I was saying this throughout the series. But MOST of the bad calls went against the Mavs.

EDIT: Ok, think about it like this. Phil Jackson defending Mark Cuban. If that happens, you KNOW that Phil must believe something if he would defend Mark Cuban of all people.
Because the officiating wasn't blatently lopsided with one player getting enough phanton fouls for everyone to see on youtube.

Swish, you and I both know, a LARGE amount of people that say that series was rigged AREN'T even Mavs fans and that's a fact. Look at the question posted by Dirk Knight. And look at my past questions. Majority of the people saying it are not Mavs fans. There's a reason why. You don't need to be a Mavs fan to see it, you just need eyes. There's a reason why that series and the 02 WCF get talked about the most as the most "rigged and controversial" series. And there is a reason why the 2011 finals will not be one of those series. You can pretend only Mavs fans say the series was rigged but deep down you know many other people see it too.
