What can I do in a 12 hour layover around Miami International Airport?

I will arrive at MIA Sunday morning around 6am and my flight doesn't leave until 6pm. What are things I can do to get out of MIA even if the weather is not so great to go to the beach? Any recommendations: food, shopping, shows, anything to entertain myself at least for 6 hours outside the airport?

i have never had a layover that long, but im guessing you can go shopping in the terminal or justlook around, if you have a laptop, ipod, ipad, or whatever else, you can watch a movie if theres wifi, and i know that airports may be expensive, but you can still buy, there are many things to do, and if there isn't i'm guessing that you can just sleep. hope this helped :).What can I do in a 12 hour layover around Miami International Airport?
Em, a 12-hour trip in Miami. Of course, you can try many interesting things to do during the waiting time.





First, let's say shopping. Our city is well known for many great shopping malls and destinations. As you're stepping outside MIA, the Dolphin Mall is just west of the airport. The mall is home to up to 200 restaurants and stores. Enough to spend a whole morning at the mall. If you have enough time, spend some leisure time in other famous malls, like Bayside Marketplace, Sawgrass Mills and Aventura Mall.



BTW, you can find many golf courses and parks in the area, like Melreese Golf Course and Grapelandn Heights Park. It's great to spend an enjoyable afternoon in a scenic park.
