Do you think Miami is a good place to live and raise your kids?

We've all heard the Miami night adult lifestyle, but is Miami also a good place for your children to grow up? are there any "safe" places to go with kids?

Please fill me in with these things, a friend is moving soon, and she has two kids ( 8 and 9 both girls) and she is worried about it.

Any areas to Avoid??

When people say Miami, they usually think about the nightclubs and beaches on Miami Beach. Miami has some great neighborhoods. Kendall and Pinecrest are good residential communities homes from 100,000 to about 2,000,000+ very diverse culture, great restaurants, many parks and schools, very clean, typically large lots, and many shopping centers (The Falls, Lincoln, Dadeland, Dolphin, Sunset). Miami is one of the few cities where you can find quiet communities 10-20 minutes away from all the action like Miami Beach and Brickell. Miami's bad areas are typically only to north and to the west of the city but everything south of miami (Kendall, Coral Gables, Pinecrest) is very exclusive and organized.Do you think Miami is a good place to live and raise your kids?
