What is there to do in Miami?

My boyfriend and I are heading there for the weekend. We are not really into the club scene, and don't want to spend 100% of our time on the beach. Does anyone have suggestions for someone who has never been to Miami on things to do that are somewhat "touristy?"What is there to do in Miami?
Alright, so, I reeeeeally love doing things in Miami that have nothing to do with the club scene or lazing around on the beach for days on end. You'll obviously explore the Miami Beach area and walk around Lincoln Road, shop, eat, etc. All tourists know that. However, there are things in Miami that you MUST do that you cannot find anywhere else. Or they're just really awesome. I must warn you: SKIP ALL OF OUR MUSEUMS. They all pretty much SUCK. Miami seaquarium, parrot jungle, science museum... it's embarrassing what we have to offer to our tourists in terms of museums. Instead, do nautical activities and cultural explorations.

1) The Little Havana neighborhood is an experience, especially eating Cuban Food. Want a really authentic place? On SW 8th St, head to Versailles Restaurant for traditional plates that are always, always good. Great place to people watch, too. They speak English. You cannot miss this...! It's a big piece of Miami culture.

2) Snorkeling in Key Largo. It's the first key, I think, and head to Pennycamp park for some AMAZING snorkeling opportunities. I've never seen anything like it, and for a tourist, it's really entering another world, being underwater. I imagine you can rent gear there. You can't miss out on this, it's the best water. If you want to be more adventurous than Key Largo and you have the time, go to Key West, the last, last key. It's so much fun! I could write another post on what there is to do there... one of my favorite places in the entire world.

3) The Everglades. A swamp tour is fun, and there's just nothing else like the Everglades. I'm sure there's tons of info on this and others on here will tell you about it. They have those special boats that are really cool and you get to see a bunch of animals you wouldn't see anywhere else. Dress comfortably... super hot and humid.

I can't think of anything else right now, but another minor thing is visiting the Vizcaya Mansion and Gardens, which is just an old mansion we have down here that's pretty gorgeous, if you're into that sort of thing. Also, I LOVEEE the duck tour they give in the beach! I was bored once and took it, and I honestly learned stuff and had fun. They take you around Star, Hibiscus, and Palm Islands and show you all the great houses, so it's definitely worth it if you have the time and can stand the heat. Coconut Grove sucks, there's nothing to do really, unless you want to visit the Coconut Grove marina and have a nice dinner overlooking the water at the Chart House.

My mind is exhausted. E-mail me if you have any other questions! What is there to do in Miami?
Coconut Grove that's an area where they have many restaurants, shops, bars and clubs it's really nice to park and walk around. Then there's Bayside Marketplace a must see for all tourists it's a place where you will find again many shops, restaurants, bars, live music and party boats that depart from there and cruise for a few hours. There's south beach which has 4 main strips Ocean drive,Collins avenue,Washington avenue and Lincoln road there are shops, restaurants, bars and clubs there also museums like the Bass museum(art museum) and the sex museum(really cool for couples)
Check this web site for a ton of ideas for vacation activities:

I would recommended doing an Everglades or Swamp tour, a sightseeing cruise, or heading to Key West for a day. There is also a lot of shopping. If you are into celebrities, you can cruise out to Star Island.

Hope this helps! What is there to do in Miami?
matheson hammocks park.

everglades national park. take a canoe kayak or boat trip at flamingo oleta river or shark valley all these places allow you to do half or full day rentals. but beware of canoes and kayaks i prefer to rent the boats (cost more but worth it) about 125 for 4 hours at flamingo and you really get to see things.

fruit and spice park.

viscaya

or my real suggestion. take bout an hour drive to the first key (key largo and go to john pennecamp, snorkel spend the day there whatever it;s gorgeous.)
why go to miami if you are not interested in the clubs and beach?

in reality, there isnt a whole lot of appealing things down there that doesnt involved beach and night activities...thats what makes it.
