Why does everyone say FSU and Miami are back?

How can FSU go 7-6 one year come in next season ranked 19th, and be favored to go to the acc championship? Same thing, but not as much with Miami. Yeah florida st got some new coordinators and stuff, but are they really expected to make a difference right away? Shouldn't you have to do a little more than win a cake walk bowl game and go 7-6 in the regular season to be ranked 19th the next year? Does anyone really remember FSU last year? They were awful. Yeah, they're returning a lot of starters, but they're from a team that almost wasn't bowl eligible last year. Is this just a publicity thing to make the ACC look more competitive by having more than one ranked team (VT) at the beginning of the season? I'll admit FSU is good, but as long as they have Drew Weatherford under center, they will not go to a BCS bowl. Why does everyone say FSU and Miami are back?
FSU had a bad year, but that doesn't mean they won't rebound. They'll do a lot better this year. Jeff Bowden was a terrible offensive coordinator. Tennessee went 5-6 in 2005 and came back last year and went 9-4 after losing in the Outback Bowl. If Tenessee can come back from a losing record, I don't see why FSU can't improve. Yeah, maybe they're ranked high, but they will have a good team. They're defense is always one of the best in the nation.

Edit: You said that "as long as they have Drew Weatherford under center, they will not go to a BCS bowl." This is a stupid statement, because Weatherford took them to a BCS bowl as a freshman (the Orange Bowl). Why does everyone say FSU and Miami are back?
LOL keep on Dreaming neither Team is Good Enough to win the ACC.
Miami is definitely a sleeper to be very competitive this season, but I don't get it with Florida State. But the pre-season polls are reflective of teams with "name" programs when looking at slots 20-25.Why does everyone say FSU and Miami are back?
They are back as well as Va Tech, Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, UCLA, USC. They are all back, for the 2007 season that is. Truly I can't stand either team. I like the Buckeyes from Ohio State. Go Buckeyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know about FSU, but the Hurricanes, my sources tell me, have hired a new recruiter with connections at the Raiford Penitentiary in Florida and Angola in Louisiana...Those ol' boys will bring back the brand of football, civic leadership and academic achievement Miami fans are used toWhy does everyone say FSU and Miami are back?
I agree with this question.. I've seen alot of Miami and FSU questions on here and they're all implying great improvement.. I just don't see it.. I see FSU getting the better of Miami barely and they'll finish probably 5th and 6th in the conference behind VT, Wake Forrest, Clemson and Georgia Tech.. if that is "back" then someone needs to discribe the definition of that word for me.. I see that game between FSU and Alabama as a matchup of two teams who used to be playing a nostalgia game and trying to pretend they are still relevant.. FSU will resurface in a year or two with Jimbo Fisher (he's really a great coordinator) but Miami? they have so bad a rep that it might take 3 years to put that program back on the map (although playing in Dolphin stadium will help them especially with recruiting)
