If you just had the surgery within a few days I'd give it a bit longer, cause your pharnyx/throat is probably pretty swollen but if your concerned ask them if they can look at your:

Cranial nerve VII, IX and I if your that concerned about smell and depending on which part of your taste buds aren't cooperating properly.

CN VII have sensory information back to the brain on the anterior 2/3 of tongue while CN IX controls 1/3 of the posterior taste buds as well as the muscles for swallowing and CN I controls sense of smell.

Edit: Not to argue with you Harold but an acoustic nueroma shouldn't lead to loss of taste typically symptoms include nausea, tinnitus or vertigo unless your tumor was pertruding into the brain stem and affecting 1 of the 4 cranial nerves with the sense of taste then that's high possibility.

However you are right on the waiver, hospitals always typically have you sign a waiver.Recently had some neck surgery but now i am unable to swallow things easily and my tastes buds are bad?
Specially trained doctors in the Ear, Nose, Throat also do neck surgery. There is a branch of medicine just for Head and Neck surgery. I had a tumor removed from my inner ear on the acoustic nerve. A branch on the acoustic nerve was for taste, and the acoustic nerve had to be excised to remove the tumor. I lost my taste for six months as everything I ate had a metallic taste, so I stopped eating except one meal a day. I lost 25 pounds. It is estimated by doctors that about 30% of smell is related to taste Before surgery, you had to sign a waver that you OKed the surgery, that gives you not too much power.

To be honest, I do not think it is worth the expense to hire an attorney to take the case who will require money upfront, and you may have to wait a year or more for your case to be heard by a judge, should you have a case. Your taste will return, but expect about 6 months.
