You're gonna need to rent a car and buy a map. You don't want to end up in the wrong neighborhood. I would suggest visiting:



Vizcaya, Marathon or Islamorada (in the Keys), Calle Ocho (for some delish Cuban food), Bayside (for drinks %26amp; shopping), Las Olas (Ft Lauderdale for shopping/dinner), Everglades (airboat ride), Coconut Grove (fun! fun! fun!)

the first step is ....get a city tour.(with a map in Your hand,so You will know were exactly You are)

then,

In SoBe you can walk everywhere. For the rest of Miami you can rent a car at the airport (Royal Rent A Car is cheap). The bus system is not expensive but they are always late and who wants to sit in the heat waiting for a bus when you can drive with the a/c full blast. The metrorail is okay from downtown miami to vizcaya and then dadeland mall but that's it. Our metrorail is useless for seeing Miami.
