What to do on a friday night with five guys?

Ok, soooo here's the deal: I'm a seventeen year old girl and my friends at school consists of a group of seven guys X) They're all super different (kinda like the seven dwarfs) and even though I've known them for so long we've never gotten together as a group. I really want to plan something for spring break but I don't know what to do! HELPPPP!!! I need ideas for fun things to do in Miami on a Friday night that guys will enjoy too!

(Ice skating and hanging at the mall is apparently out of the question :P)What to do on a friday night with five guys?

Go down to the board walk in dania beach. Lots of little restaurants and gift shops. Its fun to walk along or ride bike. Also, it's a lot of to stay at a hotel right on the beach then at night go into the pool and then ride around downtown Miami to see all the colorful lights and the bayWhat to do on a friday night with five guys?

ROAD TRIP!

Do i have to change from atlanta to miami or another city just because i'm white and the crime is high ?

I'm white, not from the US. and i'm very worried about going to Atlanta. but i'm going to take intensive english courses. and i really liked the language institute but i dont feel comfy about atlanta! i'm just worried i dont know how things goes in Atlanta. is it dangeroues ? liek i cant go out at night ? i'm 18 years. and planning to stay in mid-town Atlanta...Do i have to change from atlanta to miami or another city just because i'm white and the crime is high ?
If you think crime is high in Atlanta try walking the streets of downtown Miami after dark.

The reality is that all big cities, no matter where they are located are havens for crime. Atlanta is no worse than any other major city in the US.

It just gets a bad reputation because most of the city is non-white.Do i have to change from atlanta to miami or another city just because i'm white and the crime is high ?
You'll be fine.... Just stay out of the areas where the gang bangers are looking to shoot any white boy they can find.... you can go out at night... just like a said stay away from bad neighborhoods but then again that goes for EVERY city in the U.S. and trust me Miami is not safer... then you got a bunch of illegal cubans who hate americans and white people... but you'll find that EVERYWHERE you go... I live in OMAHA NEBRASKA and there are a lot of Mexicans who hate white people because unfortunately... in the U.S. it is ok for everyone else to hate white people but NEVER ok for any white person to say anything about a minority.... with the exception of gays, gays get

un-needed discrimination but sadly no one cares or will do anything about it but they're looking to protect anyone else.... which I think is bull ****...

But getting back to Atlanta... stay in an apartment down town in a big business area.... its safe there tons of people... or if you still feel uncomfortable stay in the sub-burbs.
you are white, so you should be ok. if you were black, not only gang bangers also the police would be after your butt.Do i have to change from atlanta to miami or another city just because i'm white and the crime is high ?
I would say Miami is actually worse than Atlanta in terms of crime.

What can I do in Miami in 7 and a half hours?

I live in Mexico City and tomorrow I am traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina via Miami. I arrive at Miami at 1pm and my plane leaves at 8:30pm... I was wondering what the best thing to do is, stay in the airport and read a book or go out and do something in Miami. If I go out I obviously have to take into consideration to stay on schedule, I don麓t want to miss my international flight!

Any opinions are welcome. What can I do in Miami in 7 and a half hours?
Visit the Bayside shopping area. Nice views and food! What can I do in Miami in 7 and a half hours?
I suggest stopping by Miami Beach and checking out the shops, bars, restaurants, and of course, our beautiful beaches.

The good thing about Miami is that everything that is fun and nice to see can never be more than 45 minutes away.

The bad thing is that you have to take into account all the traffic we have.

-Also, Do you have the body imaging machine and "groping" TSA checks at the airport that you ae going to?

I have not traveled in a long time but I hear it is extremely uncomfortable

Hope you have a safe flight and a great time in our city, along with Buenos Aires! (my aunt lives there and tells me constantly I have to go there, and that it's so amazing)

  • This is a pretty ridiculous question?

    10 points!!

i have lived in miami my WHOLE life well since i came to this country at 4 years old and i'm now 18. i am transferring from FIU to UCLA next semester. SO i leave in august and before i leave i want a list of things that you MUST do in miami. to get the full experience. honestly all ive ever done is go to miami beach....thats it lol.

on vacations ive always gone to disney

so gimme a list of awesome things to do in miami before i leave! This is a pretty ridiculous question?
Moving away is all you need to do. Miami is terribly over-rated, over-crowded, over-priced and over-developed. Leave and you'll never miss it.

I grew up there, lived there for 26 years and learned to hate it so much, I couldn't stand it anymore. This is a pretty ridiculous question?
Don't leave Miami until you feel you have felt the experience of Miami.

Go to places you have never been to. Like street markets. go to where you wouldn't dare to go but of course be safe. This is a pretty ridiculous question?
are you into nature? if so ride your bike from coconut grove onto old culter road (beautiful) and into fair child tropical gardens, matheson park (check out the mangroves) visit everglades, florida keys, roller blade the venetian causeway, walk on south beach at around 5 and head over to fountainblue through the boardwalk and catch the sunset i love walking on the boardwalk. miami is not liked by people that dont know how to appreciate it, if you live in kendall, hialeah, north miami etc i pity you but i live in a beautiful area and i have visited California and i love it here you just have to know where to look. My friend lives near UM by the gables by the sea and it is breath taking around there and the people are very nice. if you go to LA and live in the hispanic area it is even worse than our hialeah but of course people will dish miami because of their own issues, it is not a bad city and i am quite proud of itThis is a pretty ridiculous question?
I have been there and when i left I did this stuff (not all):

    Get a tan

    Play Beach Volleyball

    Go to Coconut Grove

    Watch A Movie

Go to the Opera House in Downtown

    Go to Bayside

Go to Calle Ocho (8th street)

I have two kids: 13,14. We live in Miami,FL. We need some ideas for them to have fun during the day?

Any ideas of places we can go? Things to do,things to see.. Need some ideas fast! Please and thank you. :pI have two kids: 13,14. We live in Miami,FL. We need some ideas for them to have fun during the day?
Umm, let's see.... You can go to the beach for a swim then walk around. You can also go to bayside and take them on those mini cruises; they go around Star Island and give you a tour of where the celebrities live, it's pretty neat. Umm, how about the planitarium or Viscaya or any museum and things like that? Also, Boomers in Dania Beach is great! It's a little far, but not too much and they have Lazer tag, Go carts, Arcades a rollercoaster; it's awesome. Also, the Miami Seaquarium, The Drive In theatre at the swapshop, Butterfly world (It's fun and educational at the same time), Ummm the Versace house in Miami Beach, I heard now they are letting people go in and take tours to see the inside, but I'm not sure. Anddddd, I can't think of anything else, lol. Hope that helped!I have two kids: 13,14. We live in Miami,FL. We need some ideas for them to have fun during the day?

Go to the beach (south beach) during the day, then go shopping, or go out to eat, and at night get ready to go clubbin.

Get to beach early, like 11am or earler, so u can have place to park, Also gives u a chance to go do something else after u've been out there for a while. Food in fromt of beach is reasonable price (breakfast/lunch). For food try some cuban restaurants out in calle 8, and theres a good one near dolphin mall. Shoppin.. well i've only been to dolphin mall, and aventura mall and theres a mall on south beach off lincoln i hear is expensive. At night for clubs, go to ocean drive, or go to washington avenue they have a ton of clubs upand down the street there. so there ya go.. Everything is gonna be expensive (gas, restaurants, clubs) so bring alot of money

I'm planning to move to Miami, can you guys help me?

Ok, I'm going to be a senior next year and I have plans of moving to Miami after I graduate. I want to stay in a dorm and I'm planning to attend a school of Art. I want to be a Fashion Designer,Photographer or a Cartoonist.

Can you guys advice me things I should need to do how to move out, etc...?I'm planning to move to Miami, can you guys help me?
I live in Miami and I love it but the cost of living is very high...don't expect for Miami to be cheap.....most of the night clubs are in down town Miami and south beach, the clubs are hot and jumping because we know how to party and be careful because the crime rate is going up in Miami just don't be in the wrong place at the wrong time...you barely hear about drive bye shootings....also the people cant drive down here(mainly the Cubans) a lot of car accidents but watch out for the Cubans and if your going to be a Miami girl please look pretty and represent us Miami girls......also you don't really need to learn Spanish because more people speak English but alot of jobs want bilingual people but it is not hard to find a good job....but n e ways Miami is really fun and it is a lot to do down here clubs, beach, south beach, game rooms, movies, shopping, parties and a lot moreI'm planning to move to Miami, can you guys help me?
People are not friendly in south florida, everyone keeps to themselves too much.Wages are terrible

    in South florida.
I went to fashion school in Miami in 1997 (Miami International University of Art %26amp; Design) and stayed because I liked it. I still live in the area. Someone told me the same thing that the first guy up there said, "You're gonna get shot!" Well, I've been living here 10 years now and have never seen anyone with a gun. It's just like any other city in the world.....stay out of the neighborhoods where you don't belong and you'll be fine.

PS the school will arrange for your dorm room, so don't worry about things like that.

Good luck in your education.I'm planning to move to Miami, can you guys help me?

Things for under 21 yr old to do in Fort Lauderdale?

We are going down to florida for my birthday and taking a cruise then going to end up in Miami but for the first two nights we are going to be in Fort Lauderdale. There is one person who will be turning 21 this monday but wont be old enough to get into the bars until so i am trying to plan something for us to do with her on Saturday night... Is there anything down there that we could do after we ate dinner??? any help appreciated.Things for under 21 yr old to do in Fort Lauderdale?
Hmmm, depends on what you like.

Catch a concert at Hard Rock Live, go shopping at Aventura or Bal Harbour, or simply head to the beach. Nearby Hollywood Beach is friendly for all ages and the weather is perfect just about year-round (I actually prefer it at night when it's a little cooler). If you're going soon, though, you may have to contend with the Spring Break crowd, which could be good or bad.

  • Nice hotel in south beach!!! HELP!!!?

Last night i book a 6 night stay at the Fountainebleu Hotel in Miami for new years! As i was searching for things to do in miami. it has come to my attention that its a little far from all the action! so my question is, is it really that far from everything? if so wat beautiful 4 star hotel would u recommend? ThanksNice hotel in south beach!!! HELP!!!?
Since you've been there, why don’t you try something different this time? I mean something new to Miami scene…. Like The Bentley Beach Resort on the southern tip of Ocean drive…. It takes a center stage in south beach’s hottest fresh landscape – Is it “SoFi” or “South Of Fifth”…? yea something like that

    --------------------------------------…

I was there in the beginning of the year, and I must say this stylish all- suite hotel takes advantage of its position echoing the hedonism of the South Beach Elite …. Most suites incorporate broad terraces and Jacuzzis, what’s more if you’re in the company of minors, pint-sized lounge chairs will keep them relaxed, two gourmet restaurants will clam you down and the zen-inspiring Caroli health club and spa take a photo tour @ http://www.hotels.tophotels4u.com/Hotel/…

What do people wear in miami?

i'm moving to miami and i have to go to miami beach hs and i need to know what there style is!

i'm moving from beverly hills and i go too bhhs and most people where skinny jeans and stylish knits mostly things from urban outfitters and diesel and marc jacobs, but what should i wear in miami! is that what people wear in miami?

i definitely do not wanna look like a freakkkk!!

    HELP PLEASE!

i'm moving in febuary. What do people wear in miami?
Okay, people wear that stuff here too. You can keep all your clothes. It gets chilly here in the "winter" and people were hoodies, and skinny jeans. I went to public school here and I went to shows, and everyone wore all that stuff, including the studded belts, its not like people are in grass skirts. lol. Boots, scarves, normal.

The only time where you need different clothes is summer. But you should know how to dress since you are from California. Just more skimpy. Short shorts and tank tops-they sell those at urban outfitters (i shop there), and hollister, a%26amp;f. And not to school-dress code.

Oh and if you go to clubs-the girls wear super skimpy clothes. Try greatglam.com. That's the type of slutty crap they wear. What do people wear in miami?
i think people dress stylish whenever they're out, no matter what time of the day (esp on south beach) and at the beach i went 4th of july weekend and nearly every girl was wearing thong.. i wore a brazilian bikini (almost a thong) and at night for clubbing people get really dressy and the nightlife starts EARLY.. and the men wear the guayaberas wth loose pants.. yes its very hot and humid in the summer time,..too hot to even wear clothes, a dress is bout the best u can do. but at night the breeze from the ocean makes it nice. What do people wear in miami?
black and really stylish and everybody is skinny

it's impossible to keep up, get an easy look for yourself and go with itWhat do people wear in miami?
Very short and loose stuff its hot and humid!
swimsuits, white tshirts, tank tops, crocs, sandles

What should I know before moving to Miami, FL?

Are there any neighborhoods I should try to stay away from living in?

What should I expect as far prices for things like gas and other stuff?

Apartment wise do you have any suggestions? What should I know before moving to Miami, FL?
I would recommend not moving to Miami at all. North of Lauderdale is far nicer, its cheaper, safer and less congested. Plus people actually speak English there. gas is $3 a gallon for the cheap stuff right now.

Expect to pay $1000 and up for a crummy 1bd/1ba in Miami-Dade, unless you want to live in a bad neighborhood. Car insurance is also twice as high as it would be if you lived in Palm Beach County. Traffic is awful, any time of day. Even during hurricanes the streets are crowded. I think people live in their cars. What should I know before moving to Miami, FL?
Miami is a beautiful place and of course people speak Spanish....its Miami!!!! u don't have to stay away from Hialeah...it just takes getting used to...and i guess some people are afraid to adjust. if u live in an apartment u will know where to stay away from like over town, liberty city etc. just because some people hate Miami doesn't mean u will. iv lived here all of my life and i love it. ummm gas is expensive but isn't it expensive everywhere??? anyways if ur open to learning about different cultures and people u'll love it
    Spanish.

    Know spanish.

And how to drive. Fast. hahahhaWhat should I know before moving to Miami, FL?
Well, Florida is a state that has hurricanes annually so be prepared if a hurricane is coming your way. Also, Florida is a state that doesn't give big paychecks so expect to be recieving little paychecks. And some of the driving laws are sorta different.
well...i'll prepare you for one thing...the miami dolphins football team sux. What should I know before moving to Miami, FL?
I echo the last poster. Just don't do it. And if you do, don't forget your English-Spanish dictionary, because ain't nobody down here tryin' to speak English. It's expensive, overcrowded, rude, bad drivers, the list goes on. Oh yeah, dangerous too. Go to Fort Lauderdale. All the benefits, none of the drawbacks.

    Good luck.
If you are moving to Miami, avoid the following neighborhoods: Opa-Locka, Overtown, Liberty City. I prefer to avoid Hialeah too... too many people there that refuse to speak english.

As far as gas prices, they are usually just a little lower than national average, but not a whole awful lot. Regarding pay, that's all relative. Housing is cheaper than some places, so your pay will obviously be less too. That said, housing will be cheaper if you live in Ft. Lauderdale, or Broward County, rather than Miami Dade County. If you are looking for some good apartment options, my recommendation to you would be to stick with apartment communities. They are all over the place, and living in one is very pain free. You get lots of amenities, and someone else is always there to fix whatever you need done, with no little mom and pop operation. Additionally, communities can be a value because of all the amenities you get. If you consider going to Broward, I can recommend a couple that might work for you. There's one I used to live in called Windsor Hollywood in Hollywood, FL. which is very centrally located to both Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Some other places you might consider living (in Broward) are: Plantation, Sunrise, Victoria Park, Wilton Manors, Davie, Pembroke Pines, Miramar or Weston.

In Miami, the best places to live are South Beach, Miami Beach and Downtown Miami. Coconut Grove and Coral Gables aren't far behind, though don't have the amenity of being on the water. Just to give you an idea, my last place I lived in before I moved away 4 months ago was in downtown Miami. I was in a brand new building that was a high-rise. I lived on the 15th floor and had a partial bay view, and the apartment was a 1BR and 1,000 square feet. I paid $1650. That was considered a pretty good deal. Again, Miami is more expensive than Broward.

In the end, make the decision on where to live based on where you will be working. I lived in Plantation and commuted to downtown Miami for a couple of years, and my commute was 1 hour and 15 minutes one way, to travel 27 miles. For reference, during rush hour, traveling south on 95 into Miami Dade, east on 836 near Miami Airport, and North on US1 in the Coconut Grove area is going to be where the worst traffic is. I would also avoid west Miami, like Kendall or Homestead and South Miami. Those areas are so far away from downtown, and are developing so quickly, that traffic is just hell if you have to travel to the airport area or downtown.

    I hope this helps!

Do you get diseases in miami?

I want to go to miami for a week in my gap year, and i was wondering if you can get any particular diseases there? Like things that you dont get in england? And are there any dangerouse animals, that you also dont get in england?Do you get diseases in miami?
I was going to say this is a silly question, but it is never silly to be careful about one's health.

Miami is a tropical climate, a bit different than the UK.

If you are staying in the city of Miami, and not venturing out into the everglades, you have nothing to worry about. The water is safe to drink, and all that. Your biggest worry is the crime you would see in any large city, no different than London really.

There are poisonous snakes in Florida, but not found in the urban areas.

Mosquitoes are in florida, but not often found near the beach (the wind is too much for them).

    You will be fine.

If you are going into the everglades, a different story. Lots of bugs/snakes/gators.

But in Miami? You are fine, enjoy yourself, and have some good cuban food.

The AIDS answer is silly, since you can contract HIV in the UK as well.Do you get diseases in miami?

I lived in Jersey City for a couple years. Some of it is pretty nice--there's a restaurant called Lycos behind the Path station that's really good. Excellent, even. I never had any problem with crime or gangs. The only downside is that it's a cultural wasteland. You'll have to go into the city to do anything. Fortunately, that's only a matter of a 20 min train ride. Jersey City ain't all bad.I am 18 years old and just graduated high school in June from Miami i really want to move to NYC?
i dont blame you. im from vallejo california/born n raised here and im sick and tired of it and i want to start a new(and better)life in vancouver british columbia, but you,if you want to, go on a train on your way to NY,i know this famous guy from florida moved to NY on a train,so you mine as well too.

    How does a 100K wedding look like ? (w/details)?

I'm planning on taking out a loan for 80k-100k for my wedding. My credit is excellent, I have a nice income and a house to secure the loan so don't worry about the facts on the loan approval or the money. Probably the wedding will be in miami since I live there (not necessarily in miami beach). My question is simple, if you had 100k to have a wedding in miami, what special things would you throw out? Somebody told me in a previous question a private chef, i liked that idea, i just want ideas, that's all. Thank you in advance.

Pd: Sorry for any grammatical errors in the question. English is my second language. How does a 100K wedding look like ? (w/details)?
Invest in your love and to be happy.

When you make a commitment to a relationship, you invest your attention and energy in it more profoundly because you now experience ownership of that relationship. How does a 100K wedding look like ? (w/details)?
It looks just like a $500 wedding with more showmanship. Taking out a loan to pay for a wedding is one of the most idiotic actions a person can do. Taking out a loan for a house is OK because you have tangible property to show for it, you have nothing to show for a wedding except for 30 years of debt if you take out a loan to pay for it.

If I had $100,000 to spend on a wedding I would invest $99,000 of it to use toward a house, use $100 for the wedding and spend the other $400 on the honeymoon.
you don't have to spend a 100k on wedding. like for my wedding i am getting married in orlando at WDW and my budget is 100k but i told myself that i would only use 70k but it all goes to what you like and want to spend that kinda money on whatever you like. And like what my hubbie to be told me its your day and if you want to do it wit a bang then go all out for your day.How does a 100K wedding look like ? (w/details)?
100k is way too much for a wedding.

the average cost is only 20k.

If you wanna go fancy go 50k at most. I know you say you dont worry about money but I can tell you right now you'll look back and regret spending 100k on a wedding for a personal chef,, flowers and decor. You'll look back and say man I got jacked.

    Rethink it through.
I think food and location would be the first things people would splurge on. A private chef and exotic foods will increases prices a lot, but it all depends on the specifics. Locations in Miami can get pretty expensive, esp. depending on how many people you need to accommodate. How does a 100K wedding look like ? (w/details)?

Bad idea - you should never go into debt for a wedding

My wedding was under 25K and it was a destination in Maui

You don't need to spend THAT much money for a nice elaborate wedding
you could get your dream wedding for that much so it can look like whatever you want it to. :)
watch we tv or even go to wetv.com its called platinum weddings. Me myself would never spend that much, my dream wedding wouldn't cost half that!!!
If you have a good income, then why on earth are you taking out a loan for a wedding? That is a stupid idea. And, I have no idea if banks/credit unions even do that. I guess you can put down your house as collateral, but that is very risky. A wedding is a one-day event.....you will be paying on this one-day event for a long time.

But, anyway.....if you have 100K, then hire a wedding planner. He/she will be able to help and guide you to all of the "it" places in Miami and know who the top florists, photographers, event companies are.

So, my suggestion is to basically hire a wedding planner.

I have a package coming from Miami and I live in Orlando. How long will it take?

Right, so I'm originally from the UK, I've just got here.

I have no idea about this sort of thing over here. I've ordered a package from a company in Miami. How long will it take to reach Orlando?

Also: It does not require a signature. In the UK, if you're not home for a package, you get a slip through your door and you have to arrange another delivery time.

Does that happen in the US, or do they just leave it on your doorstep?

ThanksI have a package coming from Miami and I live in Orlando. How long will it take?
It all depends on the person that is sending the package. It is up to them to ask for a signature or just have the postman or the fedex or UPS leave it with no signing. Could be overnight, (most expensive)

3 day priority mail or first class mail or fedex or UPS ground, which can take up to one week. You should or should have asked for a tracking number and you can follow the route of the package.I have a package coming from Miami and I live in Orlando. How long will it take?

Do hurricanes occur often in Miami area?

I am moving to miami lakes florida at the end of may. I have never witnessed a hurricane before! Are they very dangerous, do they hit the miami area often and what is the best thing for me to do when one hits? Also any good bars in the miami lakes area?Do hurricanes occur often in Miami area?
I live in Houston, Tx. I have worked in Miami, and all over Florida. Hurricanes come through Miami even more often then Houston. Most of the ones that go through Florida, or the panhandle are smaller categories that may not threated many human lives, but can be a nightmare on property. Not too long ago i got a chance to meet a lot of Katrina evacuees, as well as going through the scare of Rita just a few weeks after. It is horrifying to see some of the effects these things can have on entire cities, and even states. Do not listen to everything they say on TV, for it is just a depiction of the worse possible, whether it is scenario, or what actually happened. Miami is so beautiful, that you will enjoy yourself, and the possibility of Hurricanes will only be a small memory compared to everything else you will experience there. Enjoy

Yes. The best thing for you to do is evacuate ahead of time.
Yes. Get out while you still can. 8-)Do hurricanes occur often in Miami area?
uh ... yeah! If a hurricane is coming, move all of your outdoor possessions indoors. Board up your windows. It may be adviseable to get out of the way and go to a hotel or family member in a safer area ... usually farther north in florida.
Yes...lots of hurricanes. Make sure you have your house ready. Ahead of time, buy lots of water and non-perishable foods. May want to get a generator... just in case. Always board up windows and lock doors.Do hurricanes occur often in Miami area?
yes, the hurrcane season is from june to november. miami is a hot spot hurricanes. pay attention to warnings and give yourself a lot of time to evacuate.

    - 1408

Are Miami and Florida State the dirtiest programs in college football?

FSU's Greg Reid was arrested earlier today. Don't know all the details, but they say he might have threatened the cop and his family.

If I'm not mistaken, this isn't FSU's first arrest. I know other programs have had their problems, but some seriously questionable things go down in Tallahassee and Coral Gables.

Also, what's up with all this recruiting FSU has suddenly started doing? Since Jimbo got in there, FSU suddenly went to number one in recruiting. You think something's going on?Are Miami and Florida State the dirtiest programs in college football?
Florida is the most brutal State to recruit. I think every college has arrests. Are Miami and Florida State the dirtiest programs in college football?
no, there must be sports programs much worse ( no offense to other college football teams)Are Miami and Florida State the dirtiest programs in college football?
I would say Miami and USC (So Cal) are the two worst.

  • What are the best things to do in Key West?

Especially for those on a budget. Is it wiser to fly into Ft Lauderdale or Miami and then rent a car or to just fly into Key West and rent a scooter or bike??What are the best things to do in Key West?
Miami Airport %26amp; Ft. Lauderdale airport are both well over 125 miles from Key West. A car is the only practical way if you are going to drive down. The ride from Florida City to Key West is very nice, allow 2-4 hours plus travel time from the airport.

Key West is a very small island, the major sights can be seen in less then a day. Take the Conch tour ride %26amp; you will see it all in a few hours. The major activity in Key West is "drinking" around Duval Street. If you are not into that, then the place will get dull fast. l recommend you get a room near Duval Street, it will save you walking, A bike or scooter is fine but you really can't go very far other then circle the town. If you were going to rent one to explore the other keys, be advised that you can't take them past the 7 mile bridge.

As for things to do, try Mallory Square at sunset. Consider one of the boat cruises around the island. Take that bike for a leisurely ride around the place, your gonna love it.What are the best things to do in Key West?
The only two things I can think of are to swim in the ocean and sunbathe.

What to do in this situation?

me and my man just started dating about 2 months ago and he keeps me home like i dont belong outside in the open world. he wont let me go the beach with a friend form work or let me go to miami with my family. why is he acting like that? is because he is afraid that im going to find someone else or is he just insucure? i told him that if i wanted to cheat on him then i would do it. now he is saying that i can go the beach but not to miami. if you trust me to go the beach why not miami? the same thing you think that i would do in miami the same thing i would do at the beach. please helpme to realize why he is treating me this way? What to do in this situation?
he is treating you this way because Miami is the place to go to get wild and party hard so he is afraid while in Miami you will do you know what with other guys and the chances are he wouldn't find out so he doesn't want you go at all. which i think is rude because you know yourself better than he knows you and your relationship is not going to work if he doesn't trust you, it also wont work out if he doesn't want you going anywhere! you need to talk to him tell him how you feel, tell him "I am going to Miami with my family and im not your property" then pause and say "if i wanna go somewhere with my friends or family im gonna go" then take another breath and say "this relationship Will never work if you don't have trust in me!" and you should be able to take it from here, I HOPE I HELPED!What to do in this situation?
He is controlling and this is just the start of abuse. Get out while you can.

No man is worth your freedom and your dignity.
To look at this in a more positive way. I am sure you have a lot of things going for you. Why do you need someone you have just started DATING, 2 months ago, that is only 60 days; telling you what you can and can't do? What makes you think that is okay? You said dating, so that means you are just going out with this person, feeling out whether this is the person for you or not, well my suggestion is NOT.

It really doesn't sound like a good situation you have gotten yourself into. I really hope you get out of this relationship asap, and without any harm to you. He doesn't sound like a mentally stable person. If you don't see something wrong with the situation you're in then there is something mentally wrong with you as well. What to do in this situation?
It is called control. Chances are you may soon end up as a statistic in a hospital of morgue.
Maybe he has been in a similar situation and the girl broke his heart. you let him know you wont do anything to hurt him if he just gives you some space. thats important in a relationship. What to do in this situation?
He's far too controlling and possessive--walk away now before it gets any worse. Trust me, I've been there and it gets worse, not better. He has issues and there's nothing you can do to change him.
The question is: WHY ARE YOU WILLING TO PUT UP WITH IT??? You sound like a big fool to us! Were you looking for a boyfriend or a new DADDY TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO?
honey he is not ur parent he is ur man not ur dad
Maybe there is some insecurity within him. You shouldn't have to change you or your personality to be with a man dear. If this is his normal personality, RUN! If not, think about how you met, and if there was some reason for him to doubt you int he beginning, because if he doesn't trust you, he really doesn't love you.
dump him now. you'll feel free to do as you please. no worries.
I say get out of the relationship before he starts beating you and making you call him master...

    what a psycho...
Let him go..once a guy knows he can control you in anyway he will take advantage of it and control more and more and then its even out of his control !! Let the dude go its not worth someone being like that you in your life..good luck
He is possessive and jealous, as many men are. You won't be able to change him, so if it's OK with you, enjoy it, if this is a big problem, send him on his way. May be if you threaten to leave him, he would compromise, but it will be a fight each and every time.
Leave the guy. If he is this controlling and you only been together for 2 months it will only get worse. If he will not let you go with family that is a control factor.

I hope you can fix the situation. Good Luck
    leave him
This man wants to control your life.

Do you want him to control your life, and tell you what you can and can't do?

If the answer is "No," dump him, and look for a better man.
He is a control freak and you are stupid if you stay with him. Two months and he's "keeping you at home"?!! Please.
It sounds like your man is very possessive and controlling. One thing you must remember is your life is your life and you can do whatever you want. You need to leave him and find someone who trusts you because it will only get worse if you stay. He will be manipulative and try to make it seem like you did something wrong when in fact you did nothing. For your own happiness I suggest you leave him. Most of the time guys like that don't change.

I dated someone just like that.

Cheapest cities with things to do in florida?

Me and my boyfriend are planning on taking a trip over winter break in january to somplace warmer, and with a beach. we want to go to florida but our budget is under $500 a person. We've been trying so many different cities like Orlando, Miami, Clearwater and others. We've been to panama city beach before and we drove so we could maybe drive that long again. does anybody have any suggestions on what cities would be good to visit, if not in florida even someplace else?

We live in south eastern wisconsin.

Miami is great and its nice! i just moved here to South Beach, its not too expensive and there are A TON of things to do here, everyone comes here! check out some sites, i came across a good one only thing is its new and gonna take time to get going but its not like those other boring sites, it has chat room, forums, place for meeting people, and gives you info on everything in south beach, entertainment, activies, etc. etc. anyway hope that helps and hope u choose South Beach its great! of course i think so i moved here lol. oh and that site is called South Beach 305 at www.southbeach305.webs.comCheapest cities with things to do in florida?
All I can suggest, if you insist on going all the way to South Florida, is to check out Hollywood Beach. It is definitely the most affordable place around here. With lots of affordable, family-owned hotels along the beach, you can see most of them here: http://tiny.cc/4i0sl

And do not thing it is a second grade place: beach is gorgeous there, and downtown one of the best in the region!Cheapest cities with things to do in florida?
This is easy! The cheapest beach town in all of Florida is Daytona Beach. There are a ton of things to do and you can find hotels ON THE BEACH starting at $50 a night. When I go to Daytona I use www.daytonabeachhotelscheap.com. The area is similar to Panama City but even more affordable. Have fun!Cheapest cities with things to do in florida?

  • Does my Miami condo need hurricane shutters?

I recently purchased a condo in Miami (Kendall, no where near the beach). When first looking at the apartment I asked about hurricane shutters and received strange looks from the owner, the real estate agent and the association representative. All told me that the association allowed them, but that I had no need for any since I had a balcony (12 ft long by 4 ft deep) and was on the second floor (building is four stories tall).

This doesn't make any sense to me. What do balconies and being on the second floor have to do with things hitting my sliding glass doors or windows? I thought the wind got worse the higher up you went.

Do I need hurricane shutters or not? If not, could you explain why?

Thanks!Does my Miami condo need hurricane shutters?
you absolutely positively no foolin around without question need shutters.......

I manage a 75 unit condo in ST Thomas....we didn't have shutters here for Marilyn in 95.....windows and especially sliding glass doors blew in.....not so much from impact damage but just the wind force. The doors and sliding windows BENT in the middle, the doors popped out of their tracks and we had 18 units ripped apart from the INSIDE once the hurricane got into the building......and of course, all the units below the blown out apartments had terrible water damage......we mandated hurricane shutters, our property insurance went way down, we've had 7 hurricanes since and not a spec of damage. We even have a rule here that if an owner doesn't close their shutters, they are responsible for any damage whatever wherever in the building!

As I said, but will repeat, the damage came not from debris being thrown thru the glass but from the whole unit....frame and all..... "oil canning" in the wind till it popped out of the tracks.......a VERY scary thing to see........wind force goes up as the square of the wind speed......ie 40 miles an hour is 4 times 20 miles an hour, not twice; 100 miles an hour is 25 times that of 20!!!!! Drive down the road at 60 miles and hour and stick your arm out the window......now, 120 MPH is FOUR TIMES that force. Think unprotected windows and doors will stay put? Un unh....

I am also somewhat shocked that your association ( not to mention the local building code!) doesn't require shutters and I wonder who pays if you have shutters and the guy upstairs doesn't and you get flooded out......Does my Miami condo need hurricane shutters?
I live in SW Florida, and have seen hurricane shutters on high rise condos. I agree with you, hurricane winds don't discriminate about what floor you're on. You insurance company will give you a discount if you install shutters, so that's a little incentive.Does my Miami condo need hurricane shutters?
I would think you do as well. Hurricane winds can shatter glass no matter what floor you are on. To play it safe and to avoid having to tape up your windows everytime there is a hurricane warning, I say invent in shutters.Does my Miami condo need hurricane shutters?
Better safe than sorry. I had a condo in Boca, 7th floor, corner unit -- the balcony wraps around the corner with glass and I have storm shutters around the entire balcony.

Check to see that your association isn't responsible for the installation. New FLA guidelines, in order to comply with the proposed state catastrophe fund, require some developments to have storm shutters depending on your geographic risk level.
I live in south Florida. some condos have already hurricanes shutters but i think the ones in Kendall don't have (you might not need but they are very safe)

Anybody have some eclectic, fun ideas for my Miami trip?

I'm heading down to Miami solo for about 9 days in mid-march. I'm looking for some interesting things to do... food, beach, art, nostalgia, etc.

Things to while in South Florida in January?

Going to vacation with my husband in Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Miami in a week and I would like some good suggestions on must-do's while there. Please help! Restaurant suggestions would be golden also! Thanks!Things to while in South Florida in January?
if you like Salsa then you have to go dinner to Trpogala in the Fountain Bleu then see the Willy Chirino show ... if you like eating crab, then try Joe Stone Crab, the other place to drink a nice cocktail is Mango麓s in the Collins Ave between the 8 st and the 12 st

lot of places and lot of things to do, if you like seafoiod is great if you klike cuban food you麓ll find the best in the world (including Cuba)

if you like mingle with youngsters there a lot of places :-)

I hope you find supportive my answer and you choose it as the best answer, best regards :-)

Cubans: Do you think those countrymen who fled to Miami are traitors? Or would you have done the same thing?

I'm not sure why the Cuban exiles here in the US are so adamant about supporting sanctions, since they obviously seem to hurt the Cuban people much more than they hurt Castro's government.

Anyway, what do you think of the exiles?Cubans: Do you think those countrymen who fled to Miami are traitors? Or would you have done the same thing?
I doubt that there are many Cubans in Cuba reading this question. They are more likely to be found in the Spanish-language section.

And I don't think that it is true that all Cuban expats in Miami support sanctions - surveys indicate that it's about 50/50.

A survey by the CIA a few years ago reckoned about 10% of Cubans would leave the country if they could (i.e. 90% would stay).

Since I am sure to get lots of thumbs-down anyway, I will add that the term "exile" isn't generally accurate - most Cuban-Americans are able to go to Cuba without problem.Cubans: Do you think those countrymen who fled to Miami are traitors? Or would you have done the same thing?
    Thanks.

The CIA survey does refer to your second question.

Many Cubans in Cuba have relatives in Miami who send them funds.

Why should we think that ? And what do you know about that ?

How much is homeschooling in miami?

how much is it in miami and what are the requirements

bq.is it a good thing to do?How much is homeschooling in miami?
The requirements for homeschooling in Florida are pretty simple. The parents send in a letter to the school district including the child's name, birthdate, address and parent's signature, telling the school of their intent to homeschool the child. (Withdraw the child if he's currently in a school.) Then they are officially homeschooling.

They can choose whatever books or curriculum they feel is appropriate. They can buy textbooks, use library books, or whatever. Some people in Florida, especially those with children in grade 6 or above, like to use http://www.flvs.net This is an online school that is free because it is really public school that can be done at home. Or you can use any other curriculum that you want; there are lots of possibilities.

They do have to keep records--the law calls it a portfolio--records of the educational activities the child does, titles of reading materials used, and some samples of work.

By the end of a full year, the parent has to turn in an evaluation on the child--can be a standardized test or can be a FL certified teacher going over the portfolio of work to make sure the child is making academic progress.

There are a number of homeschool support groups around where other homeschoolers get together to share ideas, answer questions, help each other. You can look for one on Yahoo! Groups or check on http://www.FPEA.com for support groups in Florida.

Good luck. How much is homeschooling in miami?
Would I recommend it? Definitely! Why else would I be doing it? Homeschooling is the best educational option for parents who are willing to devote the time, energy, and resources into educating their own children.

  • Little brown things on my car, how do I take them out?

I live in Miami, FL and I park my car in my driveway under a bunch of palm trees. Now over time there are these little brown things all over my car and are literally stuck to the car. I thought they were embedded into the paint however if you scratch at one it'll come out. How can I take them all out in a wash without picking at every single one (there are MILLIONS!) Please and thank you for all your help.Little brown things on my car, how do I take them out?
    clay bar..

can find it at walmart, autozone, etc..Little brown things on my car, how do I take them out?
yopu can find it at walmart or any auto store, bug and tar remover, tree sap remover, all can be found in auto section, dont try to remove with sos or anything abracive there are chemicials out there for this.Little brown things on my car, how do I take them out?
Don't know if it works for palm sap, but for pine sap I use ammonia. You may have to saturate paper towels with the stuff and let them soak. The next step up the solvent ladder would be turpentine.Little brown things on my car, how do I take them out?
Pressure washer should do the trick, or running it through the car-wash at the gas-station.
Hot pressure wash at a car wash (but never use their brush - those brushes leave tons micro scratches). If you're lucky it will remove them. But if heavily coated and been sitting for awhile. Then you will still have tiny brown residue spots regardless. I would just get it detailed $100 - car wash, wax, buffed, and interior detailed. They'll remove all the gunk and anything else you didn't notice.

My sexy as hell wife and I are taking a trip to Miami, would should a young sexy couple do to spice things up?

This is going to be a passionate, wild, sexy, hot sex themed vacation for us. We are staying in South Beach in early May and we are up for ANYTHING. You should see the suit she is going to cram into...in fact there are 3 ridiculously small bathing suits she will be wearing. Where should I take her? What should we do to get all hot and bothered? Any good "couple" clubs or sexy dance clubs? Great Private beaches? Any rich folks want to let us hang by their pool with my wife in her string bikini? Like I said, we are up for anything...please advise, nothing is too much. Thanks!

Well I know your married and all, but wouldn't you want to keep your wife all to your self? Just sayin! I would not want anyone else looking at her or touching her! And you can get all hot and bothered on your own, just the two of you. No need for anyone else. There is a good non-swingers club called Mangos on South Beach and is latino themed where they dance salsa and merengue. You both can dance the night away and get all hot and bothered there, then go to your hotel room or the beach later on in the evening time when nobody is around. The swingers thing will get old after a while, believe me I speak from experience and your marriage won't last too long if you open up those types of doors. Hi there I have a question on Miami south beach ?

I am booking a Holiday to Miami (south beach) and am going with 2 friends we are in our late 20s and Id appreciate on things to do. I have been to Orlndo and loved all the attractions and shopping and hope that Miami lives up to my expectations. Whats the night life like, is it very expensive to go out? eat ? is there good shopping malls?Hi there I have a question on Miami south beach ?
The nightlife is great - tons of different clubs on South Beach with anything from hip hop to dirty house music. My favorites are Cameo, Space, Mansion, and Prive. If it's three girls going, you probably won't have to pay a cover anywhere, and some bars/clubs have nights where ladies drink free.

The beach has tons of different restaurants at every price level. The Forge and Prime 112 are great, but very expensive. There are many different cafes and whatnot for cheaper dining.

Lincoln Road has a ton of different stores, and Bayside is a pretty nice outdoor mall downtown. There aren't many outlet malls like they have in Orlando, but I'm sure you will find nice places to shop.

If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me. :)Hi there I have a question on Miami south beach ?

South Beach is great for about 3 days and hopefully you are going on a weekend. There is plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, tattoo parlors and clubs there.

Outside of there you have Bayside in downtown Miami.

About an hour drive north is a a big outlet mall - Sunrise.

Because of the increase of population in south Miami in 1998 the city was forced to create a new area code which is 786 most people that have a 786 area codes are new to the Miami area. Hey the good thing about having a 786 area code is the numbers spell out SUN on a phone keyboard.

Me and my fiance want to get married in miami, we already live here but we're having trouble finding a place?

Me and my fiance don't have much of anything to work with, we just need to know if there's a place that's cheap or if anyone would do it for free. We just want to marry each other. Please don't leave any comments saying " why are you getting married if you have no money" please no comments of things like that. I just need help on finding a place.Me and my fiance want to get married in miami, we already live here but we're having trouble finding a place?
Hi. You can always check out a park, but nothing will be free. The park may allow it without a fee, however, you still need to PAY someone (a judge or other officiant) to marry you. Fees vary, but you could possibly get someone for around $50.

Another option is to simply go to the courthouse and get married. Again, you will need to pay, but it shouldn't be that much.Me and my fiance want to get married in miami, we already live here but we're having trouble finding a place?
Try googling wedding ceremony places or try the websiteMe and my fiance want to get married in miami, we already live here but we're having trouble finding a place?
what about doing it at a park on the beach or out on a boat?

    Hello.

The first guaranteed step towards a fun time is to completely ignore cassharn's answer.

Next I dont know if you would be able to do any of these activities but here are some of my ideas of what could be fun.

Rent a waverunner or jet ski. let him/her sit in the front and drive while you are behind them just guiding them providing help when needed.

Take a ride to Southwest Miami to go rock climbing. I posted a link to a website below with information and directions.

Sorry, but thats all I have. I live in Michigan, I lived in Orlando when I was really young so I did my best trying to find activities for you on the internet. Hope you get to have a fun time with whatever it is that you choose to do! =)

What are some fun things to do in Key West?

I am visiting Key West this month (June) as a day or two trip from Miami and was wondering what are some fun activities to do? My idea of fun is something like scuba diving or jet skiing (extreme stuff), so what are the best places in Key West to go to? Is Dry Tortugas worth it?What are some fun things to do in Key West?
The Dry Tortugas are worth it if your really into deep sea fishing. There are camp grounds all over key west that is fun, the night life is great as well, drinks are kinda expensive. There are a whole host of jet ski outfits and scuba charters.

California or Florida? Which state is better for entertainment, work, quality of life things to do,etc?

Now i live San Diego,California. i never live in peace and good in Florida in 7 years now less than a year here in California i accomplish things that in 7 years in Florida i didn't. so hands down there is more more and more to do here in California. i chose California. whats your thoughts?California or Florida? Why do people like to fantasize about things that may never happen?

Everyone you go, you hear people saying that Lebron will team up with Wade and Bosh in Miami. Though it MAY happen, I don't really see Lebron being second fiddle to Wade. Then there's been talks of Lebron going to the Knicks and Carmelo joining him next year, which I highly doubt will happen especially after seeing how the Melo and A.I experiment failed in Denver. So why do people continue to fantasize about stuff that may never happen? Can people learn to be realistic for once? Why do people like to fantasize about things that may never happen?
I think you just explained the definition of 'fantasize'

It "may" happen but it may not as well.

Thats what its about isn't it?Why do people like to fantasize about things that may never happen?
It's called being optimistic. You're being pessimistic. OPTIMISTIC PEOPLE ARE BETTER AND LIVE LONGER ANYWAY.Why do people like to fantasize about things that may never happen?
Ah yes. I fantasized that Nebraska would NEVER leave the Big 12 for the Big 10, and Colorado would NEVER leave the Big 12 for the Pac 10...and it didn't happen!

    O wait...it did. Reality bites!

  • How does Orlando compare to Miami in terms of safety?

Which city is more dangerous, and is it by any significant margin? Obviously, both are different cities, with Orlando being quite touristy, and Miami being more of a usual city, but Miami still does have a fair amount of tourism. Which city has more no go areas, and for a male person alone, which city is safer to walk around on foot? I'm talking in the day mainly, as many things change at night. Places which are beautiful and safe havens by day can become crime-ridden shitholes at night. How does Orlando compare to Miami in terms of safety?
Both cities have areas that are really messed up, but there are more in Miami because of the different culture, so to speak. How does Orlando compare to Miami in terms of safety?
I just researched this because I am getting ready to move to Miami and had heard alot about the crime. Check out this link where you can compare 2 cities, here is the comparison between Miami and Orlando. How does Orlando compare to Miami in terms of safety?
I used to live in both. Both are dangerous cities, however Miami has the edge because of all the cubans, puerto ricans, dominicans, jamaicans, haitians, and of course the blacks. Orlando has the puerto ricans and a good size of jamaicans and haitians. I currently live in Orlando. Stay away from the pine hills area and anywhere west of I-4. Miami is only safe during the day. Stay only in tourist areas and watch for puerto ricans, they are very good in making things dissappear.

Los Angeles or Miami: Which city would you reccomend to a college student?

For example, me - a college student who has lived in New England his whole life and wants a change. Better weather, more fun and excitement, more diversity, hotter girls, more stuff to do, places to go and things to see, better schools, climate, more sun, better nature and affordability, better quality of life - Which one do you chose, and why?Los Angeles or Miami: Which city would you reccomend to a college student?
Well I live in LA and it has it perks but its so huge its not like you see hot girls and celebrities on the beach on a daily basis.

I think either city would be good but you should just look for schools in the area of both cities and find a match.

    Colleges in LA area

    Cal State LB

    USC

    UCLA

    LMU

    Occidental

    Cal Tech

    CSU Dominguez

    CSU Los Angeles

    plus many Art schools like

    FIDM

OtisLos Angeles or Miami: Which city would you reccomend to a college student?
Neither. Go to the University of Florida (directly or by way of Santa Fe Community College) in Gainesville or University of South Florida in Tampa is a nice campus too. University of Central Florida (directlyor by way of Valencia CC) is in Orlando but that place is really touristy so I don't know Orlando has a sheeload of stuff to do though. MIA and LA are not the best places to get an education choose some place that's gonna be fun but is not a sacrifice to your education or your safety.

they are ladybugs that have been crossed with an introduced Japanese beetle. They control aphids etc. They do bite and it pinches a bit.

It is the time of year that they cluster . It gets cold and then warm. Sometimes here in Wisconsin you will find them swarmed at this time of year on the sides of homes and buildings on a sunny warm side.

We get them in the house too for a while.

They aren't really harmful to youThey're is evil orange lady bug looking things all over my house what do I do ?

Things to do with a 14 month old baby in Hawaii?

We're traveling to Hawaii in April with our baby girl who will be 14 months. We're going to all the islands and I don't know what activities we'll really be able to do while there. We live in Miami so the beach isn't the main attraction for us. I purchased a baby carrier/backpack and an all terrain stroller to get around. Is there any hiking to do with a tough stroller? Carrying the baby for a month on our backs will not be easy. Any suggestions?Things to do with a 14 month old baby in Hawaii?
There are some easy hikes on Oahu that might be doable with a heavy duty stroller, boomer gal has one idea. Thereis also Koko Head (by Hawaii Kai) and Makiki Valley (which is wide enough as it is used every day heavily). Also Diamond Head is doable (not the rougher areas). There is a Children's Discovery Center nearer to downtown that would be fun and it features Hawaiana. There is also the Bishop Museum which might be interesting for a child.Things to do with a 14 month old baby in Hawaii?
One hike that is very easily accessible with a stroller is the Makapuu hike. It is a climb, but it is paved I see people with kids in strollers every time I hike it. It is just a couple of miles past Hanauma Bay on the east side of Oahu. You will be rewarded with great views of the south %26amp; east shores of the island %26amp; might even sight some whales.

Other places to consider include the zoo in Kapiolani Park, which is pretty good, but not world class, and the aquarium, right across Kalakaua from the park. It is very small, which is not a bad thing when you have a toddler. There is a Wet %26amp; Wild out in Kapolei that has a toddler section that looks like a lot of fun. There is a Children's Museum in Kakaako, just west of Ala Moana Center, but I don't know what age group they are appealing to. On the weekends there is Art on the Fence, outside the zoo. Although your daughter won't appreciate the art, she may enjoy a stroller ride whie you look at the paintings. There are always pigeons to chase.

Am i responsible for protecting my apartment?

Ok thank you so i now know hurricanes are a clear danger in miami!!! and the best thing to do is evacuate, but who is responsibel for the apartment, must i put the storm shutters and everything else on the apt?

    Thanks

JeffAm i responsible for protecting my apartment?
You apartment manager is responsible for the safety of the unit - you are responsible for your items inside of it. I would suggest getting renters insuarance. That will protect your items from flood damage, theft, etc.

Good for you for thinking and planning ahead!Am i responsible for protecting my apartment?
ask the apartment manager about his policies on storm protection
Well, you may not have to pay for the damages, but think of it this way. Who's going to pay for your broken things when a tree branch smashes your window and ruins the rug, or sofa, of TV or stereo with the wind blowing in all the rain?

I'd put up boards over the windows than not take that chance. If you live farther inland, you can check with the apartment owner and ask about flooding history and they'll let you know if any floods had occurred in the past (don't know where you are, after all). If they reccomend evacuation, it might be a good idea to follow their advice. Especially if your neighbors in the other apartments are leaving too.Am i responsible for protecting my apartment?
if it's a natural disaster, I think it's ok to do that, it's not your fault. Besides, what can you do? you can'tbring everything with you, or you can't just put them somewhere safe, (there's no safe place in hurricanes, you know), just save yourself first
of courseAm i responsible for protecting my apartment?

I've been out of town for a while and I'm kind of craving Cuban food. I also like the Everglades.

What is worth going to in Miami?

Hello, I live over an hour away from Miami and am wondering what is worth doing there. I like shopping malls and trying out new things. Please do not recommend the Southland Mall, Dolphin Mall, Aventura Mall, Miami International Mall, or Mall at 163rd St, as I've already been to those. Also, it can't be outdoors.

Is there anything worth going for or have I been to all of the good places? Even if there's nothing that great, what else would you recommend?

Isn't it funny how things seem to balance out and return to reality in the NBA?

The season started and the Cavs were losing, Miami winning, and the Suns were on fire. Now that the dust has settled some the facts are:

    Boston in first

    Cleveland in first

    Orlando in first

    Denver in first

    The Lakers in first

Miami is back to being what they are, a .550 team and the NY/NJ teams stink. The only real change seems to be Dallas in first and the Spurs having some problems.

Do you see any real surprise in the playoffs this season?Isn't it funny how things seem to balance out and return to reality in the NBA?
I think some teams didn't have the consistency to keep things together Miami and Phoenix were on a role but still they lost some of it Rockets Thuder and Kings are improving and they are a .550 team I guess its only the 1st quarter of the season anything can happen in a along season will just wait and see what happens next till come playoff time.

What are some things I can do for high school community service hours?

Right now I'm a freshman in high school aspiring to go to the University of Miami, which is a fairly hard school to get into. I have a 4.0 GPA so far, but it's only my first semester. What I really need is some community service hours; as of right now, I have none! I'm not sure exactly what to do or where to go to get hours. Does anybody know what they did or have any idea of what I can do?What are some things I can do for high school community service hours?
volunteer at your library. it sounds boring at first, but if you shelve DVDs or CDs its not so bad.

its also safer, not being mean or rude but you can catch a disease from someone in a soup kitchen or lice or from something on the beach or at a hospital or even at a pet shelter

so if youre gonna volunteer there make sure you have all or your shots

check out the clubs at your high school. youd be surprised to find that most of them offer community service hours ( great clubs that most schools have: NHS-national honor society, and other honor societies like art NAHS or hispanic NHHS; Great Decisions is a nationwide thing also; or like Beta or Alpha club, it is just a club for service hours; also MUN - model united nationsWhat are some things I can do for high school community service hours?
At a senior citizens in your area and maybe deliver meals or just help, with them playing bingo or something as that.......xx
Does your high school have an Interact club?

Interact is the high school version of Rotary International which is a very prestigious and widely recognized and respected organization.

If your high school does not have an interact club, inquire with the principal or counselor... and then contact the local (I'm sure you will have one) Rotary Club and ask to attend one of their meetings. The meetings are open and I guarantee you that you they will be thrilled to have you. Propose to them starting an interact club at your high school. You will get TONS of support and enthusiasm, you will have instant clout and assistance and you will be building contacts with people who can help you now, help you get scholarships, help you by writing college recommendations and help you throughout life.

Plus, colleges look for consistent activities not just here and there or the join-every-club-on-the-planet approach.

It would look great for you (and be legitimate) if you were the founder of your high school interact club and you stuck with it for four years.

Oh yeah... community service... that is what Rotary / Interact is all about.

Also, there is a college version of Interact called Rotaract so you would have an instant social in once you start attending the U of M!

    ,Your Park District

Volunteer at a local Elementary School,

Look for non-profit organizations in your area.

    Good Luck!
Your school probably has a list of "approved" community services organizations and you can see what others have done.

You can volunteer at a hospital, nursing home, community center and other places. What are some things I can do for high school community service hours?
go back to your old school the one you attending 8th grade

and help out there! Its easier than going to a soup kitchen . You know the teachers there so it will be easier for you. For example you can go back to the clubs you were in. For example if you were in an art club you can go back and help your old art teacher or if not talk to an old teacher if you can help with anything.

    Hope this Helps!

    : )
    Work at a hospital

    Visit and entertain the elderly

    Work at a Childcare center

Organize a neighborhood clean up project
helping at a soup kitchen, pet shelter, if you do a sport then see if you could help out at a fundraiser that your team hosts, city cleanup
Any thing that you can get a form on saying that you've done. You can do community service by helping the local hospital or helping a retirement home :)
Do something that your heart can truly believe in. If you do it only for the credit you don't really acomplish anything that the program was set out to do.

One place that always needs help is the local Foodbank center. They need major help in sorting and collections. Any Union Mission needs help, or if you can there is a local Covenant house near by, that is a wonderful org and could use a smart young adult.

Covenant house shelters kids that live off the street because they have no mentors/friends/family that can guide them. And that, my friend would look absolutly sweet on a college entrance exam.
