I've never been to Miami, and I do speak spanish. I wanted to take my mom there for her 50th birthday in February. The weather seems mild. I dunno a thing about Miami, so I'm wondering if you could help me by recommending an area to stay in Miami. My mom's hip, she's not an old lady type, any ideas are welcome. Try to keep this reasonably priced!Where's a good spot to stay in Miami?
You might want to get a hotel room in downtown Miami, such as the Intercontinental Hotel. That way, you can easily access both South Beach and regular Miami. A lot of tourists seem to think that South Beach is all there is to see %26amp; do in Miami, but that's not the case at all. To experience the actual Latin flair of Miami, you would need to visit regular Miami. There's also certain shopping/dining areas of Miami that you might want to visit too, such as:
The Grove (a.k.a. Coconut Grove -- shopping/dining/movie theater)
Sunset Place (a mall w/a movie theater)
Dadeland Mall
Aventura Mall (in the northernmost part of Miami-Dade county)
Village of Merrick Park (upscale mall with designer shops)
