Bike Miami Day is free and the next one is October 4th in downtown Miami. Free music, free yoga, etc. You don't need a bike to be part of the festivities. Also the 1st Friday of the month in Coral Gables you can see live music, visit the galleries, etc. Same thing happens for free in the Design District and Little Havana but on the other weekends. Info available online. Another fun thing to do that is free is VOLUNTEERING. There are many causes out there that could use your help. Check out Hands On Miami or VolunteerMatch.com for info. At UM and MDC they have free outdoor movies and concerts but you need to look at their calendar for the dates. Also biking through Coral Gables, Miami Beach, Coconut Grove is fun too. Most parks and libraries offer free events as well like Shakespeare in the Park, Jazz, Dominoes, etc. If you have a digital camera then go out and take photos of your neighborhood and people. Churches and synagogues are free and open to the public too. When was the last time someone when there?
