Visit the Miami Zoo, Parrot Jungle Island, Monkey Jungle, Fairchild Botanical Gardens, Biscayne Bay, sightseeing cruise, Coral Castle, Miami Seaquarium, and Miami Science Museum.Must do things in Miami?
Here's a less touristy, more native oriented itinerary: Calle Ocho; Coconut Grove; cruise the (Biscayne) Boulevard; haggle with merchants on Flagler Street and thereabouts; check out the new "old design section" maybe for lunch (just west of Biscayne Boulevard from 36th Street to somewhere before 54th Street, now fatuously referred to as the "Upper East Side"; with the latest interest in Haiti, check out the Haitian section, roughly around NE 2nd Avenue, especially east of it, from, say, 54th Street or below, up to 71st Street; by all means, take the drive south down Brickell Avenue, hang a left just past the Rickenbacker Causeway to Coconut Grove and continue, via Main and Ingram Highways, down Old Cutler--the nicest drive in Miami; and then there's Miami Beach--but that's a whole different question and answer. It'll be warm enough for you in March. Guaranteed. And, as MLaw suggests, check out the Everglades. For my money, I'd go out Tamiami Trail until you get to where the Florida Trail cuts across it and walk it to the left or to the right as far as you want and then just turn around and backtrack, but you could do the Everglades Park too. Have fun.
ADD-ON: I should add that Ms. Bell's suggestion of Fairchild Gardens, which is along the Cutler Road drive, is well worth a stop.Must do things in Miami?
