Are you flying into Miami, then going by car? Is Orlando your focus? When you say "two days", is it b/c your Orlando vacation doesn't start till then, or that you've allocated 2-days for Miami?
If you decide on taking a scenic route to Orlando, then A1A would be that route. However, it'll take you at least twice the time vs. the Turnpike or I-95. Sure, you'll be skimming the coastline w/all the beach towns, but honestly, they all kinda start looking the same after awhile. It's not California, where the view changes incredibly every dozen miles or so. If taking A1A, I wouldn't go any further north than Ft. Pierce. By this point, you'll have gone thru Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and some smaller beach towns. From there, you can opt for either the Turnpike or I-95.
If you have 2-days dedicated for South FL, then why "waste" it on Miami? Miami is very adult-oriented. I could think of dozens of other places to take my daughter instead. Here's a couple of alternatives, given that you leave Miami early enough...
Key West:
Doesn't sound so practical, but if Dad is willing/able, you can fit it in. It'll take you 4-hrs to reach. The scenic drive is unique, get there in time to check in, tour the town, enjoy the food and atmosphere, wake up the next morning and do the beach, leave @ noon and get to Orl by 8pm.
Everglades to Sanibel:
Take a quick tour of the Everglades, then get to Sanibel Island late-afternoon, enjoy the sunset, have a great meal, wake up the next morning and do some shelling (Sanibel is world-famous for this), enjoy the beach, leave in the early afternoon, then get to Orlando by early evening.Things to do between Miami and Orlando?
Spend part of the time either in the Everglades or on the coast in Miami; then, instead of driving up the turnpike or 95, take A-1-A up the coast. Spend time on the beach as you head up towards Orlando.
Here are a few ideas for places to stop:
Snorkel at Biscayne National Park, there are Park Ranger lead trips

Spend some time in the Everglades

One good beach area a couple hours north of Miami is:
Hutchinson Island

Or you could go all the way up to Brevard County, visit the Kennedy Space Center and spend time on Cocoa Beach.
There is plenty to do, hope you have fun.Things to do between Miami and Orlando?
Well, if you want to do the scenic drive, you can take highway 1A all the way down the coast, which is really a beautiful drive. You pass through many small towns, sandy beaches (some public), and classy residential areas with mansions. If you're short on time and taking the Turnpike or Interstate, at least make a stop in West Palm Beach...there's some pretty nice views on the coast, and it has a pretty happening downtown area.Things to do between Miami and Orlando?
