Was Lebron James' move to Miami a great move?

People do this all the time, in all sports.. You want to play for the better team, to be able to win a championship.

The only thing Miami has to do now is get the trio (Wade/Bosh/James) to work as a team. If they succeed at that, a championship is near. If they fail, then all is lost. Was Lebron James' move to Miami a great move?
it was a great move he can win multiple rings with wade and bosh. Was Lebron James' move to Miami a great move?
he shouldve gone to chicago, NY, or back to clevelandWas Lebron James' move to Miami a great move?
It depends on what is considered a "great move"?

If it's about winning titles in the next 5 years, this move may have the most upside.

All 3 players are entering the prime of their careers, and will be a force to be reckoned with.

What they do this upcoming season will depend on who they can fill out the roster with, and the new CBA will affect who they can sign in the subsequent seasons.

However, assuming that Kobe Bryant can play at a high level for about 2-3 more years (he has significantly more mileage than MJ), the Lakers' window may (sadly) close soon.

If it's about PR / perception / endorsements, we shall see. I think he may have damaged his "brand" here. Leaving Cleveland itself isn't the end of the world. Keeping this circus going for the last two years, and announcing your decision on a TV special was a pretty classless move. Lebron should have taken some notes from someone like Shaq if he was going to leave a team in his prime.

His legacy will take a hit in the short term. He could have gone to Chicago or NY to lead one of those teams to a title. They are much better sports cities than Miami.

It's pretty much a given that Magic, Bird, MJ, Kobe, or any possible GOAT would have gone to a team other than Miami in their prime.
