Campus Life: The U is located in Coral Gables a small city in Miami-dade. It is located almost in the center of Miami and just about any destination worth visiting in Miami, is just a short walk or drive away. As you may know, miami is renowned for its nightlife so if you go to U of Miami, you will have no shortage of clubs or parties to go to. You can go partying on south beach, bayside, downtown miami, ft. lauderdale. Trust me, if you like to have fun, you will find it in Miami. But as at any college you will find people who are just there to party and you will find many students who are wholly dedicated to their studies. Most students at college have to find the right balance between school and partying, and this is no different in Miami.
Student Body: Since it is so expensive, and often exclusive, many of Miami's richest families sent their kids to UM. You will find that some of the students are very well off and this is the reason they are at the school. So you will find many very intelligent students working to get themselves through college, but you also find students who are coasting though on mommy and daddy's money (this is common at many of the countries private schools, though). I hope you don't get the wrong idea, though because you can get a very, very good education at UM, and you can still have fun.
You will find a wide range of people at UM. There are people from the Midwest, people from the upper east coast, people from south america, people form the far east and many more.
One of the best things about UM is that people all walks of life come together and form a lifelong bond. Once a hurricane, always a hurricane.
I know a great deal about UM's programs so you have any more questions just email me and I will be happy to answer.Question about University of Miami (FL)?
You can enroll in one of four schools and still major in political science.(school of arts and sciences, business, communications and education). So you can concentrate your non-major classes in one school.
