Where to go and stay in Miami?

My sister and I are going to Miami on April 7-11 (possibly until the 12th). We aren't going for Spring Break festivities. She is in town on business for a couple of nights and we decided to make a week out of it. Where is a good place to stay and fun things to do for two 30-something sister's in Miami for the first time? We deserve some much needed R%26amp;R!Where to go and stay in Miami?
If you plan on staying on South Beach, Marseilles is a good hotel to stay at. It's not very expensive and the staff is good.



The beach is at the doorstep and so is Lincoln Road Mall and Espaniola Way (sp?) for shopping.Where to go and stay in Miami?
Coconut Grove is a fun place to go, lots of bars/restaurants/shops/etc.

Stayed a few months back in Sunny Isles Beach - which is just north of Miami.



If you are going for a week - this is a great place to get some R%26amp;R. Nice restaurants in area and short drive to both Miami an Ft. Lauderdale.



Plenty of shopping neraby too .... Aventura Mall is an awesome place to "shop 'till you drop."

you should go to shinyshores inn. it's right on 1234 thames street, it's by long beach. it's the cheapest hotel in town. :P
